Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about selling estate jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches, gold, coins, or other valuable items?

We’ve answered some of the most common questions about our evaluation process, appointments, pricing, and what to expect when you visit Carolina Estate Buyer.

Yes. Carolina Estate Buyer operates by appointment to ensure every client receives a private, one-on-one evaluation in a comfortable and secure setting. Appointments are available at our Charlotte, Ballantyne, and Mooresville offices, as well as select private meeting locations.

That’s perfectly fine. Original receipts, appraisals, certificates, or other documentation can be helpful, but they are not required. Our experienced team can professionally evaluate your jewelry, diamonds, watches, precious metals, and other valuables using professional testing equipment and gemological expertise.

The value of estate jewelry depends on several factors, including the type and purity of the precious metal, weight, gemstones, diamonds, craftsmanship, brand, condition, age, rarity, and current market demand. We carefully examine each item and explain the evaluation so you understand how your offer is determined.

Our process is simple and straightforward:

  • Schedule a complimentary appointment.
  • Bring your items for a professional evaluation.
  • Learn more about the items and their current market value.
  • Receive a fair, competitive offer.
  • Accept the offer and receive immediate payment, or decline with no obligation.

Insurance and replacement-value appraisals are generally intended to determine what it may cost to replace an item and can be significantly higher than its current resale or market value. Our offers are based on the item’s current market value, condition, quality, and other relevant factors. We strive to provide a competitive offer based on the true value of your items.

No. Our evaluations are complimentary and completely no-obligation. You’re welcome to take your time, ask questions, and decide whether selling is right for you. There is never any pressure to accept an offer.

Yes. We regularly evaluate individual pieces as well as larger collections. If you’re settling an estate, handling inherited jewelry, downsizing, or liquidating valuables, we can evaluate multiple items and provide guidance throughout the process.

Yes. We purchase inherited jewelry, family heirlooms, unwanted jewelry, and pieces that are no longer being worn. Whether you inherited a single ring or an entire jewelry collection, we can help you understand what your items may be worth.

If you accept our offer, immediate payment is available. We will explain the offer clearly before you make any decision, and you are never obligated to sell.
